Mixing station, also known as dividing frequency mixing station or mixing mixing station front.
Mainly used to separate and process signals from speakers, microphones, etc.
It is generally composed of three parts: input part (including power input, line interface, etc.), output part (including frequency divider amplifier, frequency divider, etc.), and equalizer (including digital equalizer and analog equalizer).
Among them, the output part is the main part for processing the signal; The input part is a device that can be used to separate signals after being connected to other outputs through a circuit output.
Frequency divider amplifier: It is an amplifier device that amplifies the output signal and connects it with related equipment (such as speakers, microphones, etc.).
Divider: A circuit connected to a frequency divider amplifier that separates and amplifies the required frequency scales for various speakers or microphones to obtain the required frequency scales for different signal strengths.
Equalizer: After setting different output channels, the volume curve required for different volumes is obtained.
There are generally several methods for connecting a frequency divider to an input channel:
Audio signal input terminal;
Imitation equalizer;
1、 Function
The tuning function is mainly to change the frequency scale of the input signal, and then adjust the intensity of the audio output signal of the speaker or microphone.
For example, when you want to expand, attenuate, or filter a speaker system, you can use different frequency scales, such as 0-1 Hz (mid frequency)- 1 K~6 K (low frequency), etc.
When conducting mixing work, we can also choose appropriate reverberation processing methods based on the on-site conditions to achieve the desired effect.
For example, in a live performance, if it is necessary to manipulate the gain of the speaker, we can use different gains to modify its sound characteristics and achieve better results.
2、 Parameters
There are many parameters for a mixing console, and the general parameters provided by a mixing console include:
Total harmonic distortion (THD) in a signal processing system refers to the average audio power factor between output channels and input channels being less than or equal to 0.9/100, audio attenuation (A), and power conversion frequency (P).
Power amplifier power (PUER) refers to the maximum power that a power amplifier can output, which refers to the maximum sound power that the amplifier can produce when input to all speakers, microphones, or the entire channel.
Equalizer Frequency Response (VSWR) refers to the volume curve that an equalizer produces for each input channel at different sound frequency scales.
Input impedance (I/O) refers to the impedance size and its distribution ratio when transmitting between the output end and the main channel. Generally, the I/O interface on the mixing console has a wide impedance scale.
3、 Characteristics
● Input end: can directly control the output (including speakers, microphones, and amplifiers);
● Input method: Imitate audio/video output;
● Output devices: speakers with microphone inputs or balance knobs, as well as speakers with surround effects (such as reverb, DTS/Dolby sound effects);
Digital equalizer: an audio channel with equalizer adjustment function (i.e. equalizer).
4、 Operational clarification
1. The key function of the switch is to turn on/off the audio equipment. Pressing the switch at this time can seal the equipment;
2. Volume knob: The on/off volume knob can adjust the maximum and minimum volume of the audio device, and there is also a mute button for convenient operation.
3. A set of knobs on the equalizer separately controls the low-frequency (or mid frequency) output or high-frequency output of the low sound output channel;
4. Channel switching: Use the channel switching function key to switch between the input channel and the equalization channel.
5. A set of knobs on the digital audio equalizer controls the tuning settings of the digital audio device (such as gain, etc.): adjusting gain, equalizer parameters, frequency response curve/peak response curve##
5、 Purchasing precautions
A mixing console is a very complex product, as it involves mixing and outputting various input signals and corresponding processing modules, so it also has multiple functions; In addition, it also has many important subordinate systems, such as audio processing modules, speaker conditioning modules, and reverberation settings.
